Miller & Martin has one of the oldest and most established Labor and Employment law practice groups in the Southeast. Our attorneys have several decades of hands-on, practical experience advising employers on a national level (assisting those with thousands of employees), as well as at the local level, (working with those with fifty or fewer employees). Our range of experience matches our depth, as our attorneys have significant experience regarding:

  • Fair Labor Standards Act (wage and hour laws)
  • Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) as well as state leave of absence laws
  • the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA as amended by the ADAAA)
  • Title VII

  • National Labor Relations Act (NLRA/labor law and union avoidance issues)

We also provide guidance concerning human resource investigations involving drug testing, fraud or theft issues, as well as harassment or workplace violence, both before and after a formal EEOC charge or a lawsuit is filed. Our attorneys also conduct on-site training and provide one-on-one counseling regarding religious accommodation, diversity, disability accommodation, pregnancy leave, family and/or medical leave and military leave issues. Our practice group members have assisted with individual terminations as well as nationwide layoffs.
