Each year, Legal Aid of East Tennessee hosts Pro Bono Night, an event to honor the contributions of local volunteer attorneys and raise awareness and funds for the Pro Bono Project of the organization.

This year, Legal Aid of East Tennessee will recognize Miller & Martin as the Pro Bono Firm of the Year for the firm's strong commitment to access to justice in Chattanooga. Miller & Martin was the first firm in Chattanooga to offer automatic payroll deductions to support Legal Aid. It is also home to two Pro Bono Attorneys Hall of Fame inductees, Mr. Richard Crotteau and Ms. Marcy Eason, among several other Miller & Martin attorneys who have been recognized by Legal Aid for their individual volunteer efforts throughout the years. In 2012, Miller & Martin attorneys offered their services in more legal advice clinics than any other firm.

"Our firm is honored by this recognition. As attorneys, we hopefully possess a unique ability to serve those in our community who cannot afford to pay for civil legal services. Our firm and our attorneys have supported Legal Aid of East Tennessee for many years, and we are committed to continuing to support our community in this way," said Jim Haley, Chairman of the firm.

Pro Bono Night will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2013 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Bessie Smith Hall with Judge Marie Williams serving as Master of Ceremonies for the evening. Silent auction items will be available to benefit Legal Aid of East Tennessee.
