Miller & Martin Adds Lewis to Corporate Government Relations Practice

January 17, 2018

Miller & Martin is pleased to welcome attorney Alex Lewis as a corporate associate in the law firm’s Nashville office.

Lewis will focus his practice on government relations, economic development and corporate matters. He will advise businesses, utility providers and local governments on a variety of matters before the Tennessee General Assembly.

Prior to joining Miller & Martin, Lewis served for five years as the Executive Assistant for Policy and Research for Tennessee’s Senate Majority Leader Mark Norris. In that role, he assisted in the development of key policy positions and legislative initiatives for the Leader and members of the Republican Caucus. Lewis received his J.D. from Nashville School of Law while working full time with the General Assembly.

“I’m excited that we were able to bring Alex on board at Miller & Martin. His experience and relationships will provide immediate value to our clients. His understanding of both the policy matters that are important to our clients and the mechanics of the General Assembly make him a strong addition to our firm,” said Chairman Jim Haley.

Senator Norris added, “Alex has been an integral part of my team these last five years. He has offered meaningful counsel in the thick of both policy and political debates. As the attorney who introduced him to Tennessee’s Supreme Court and moved for his admittance to the practice of law, I am excited for this opportunity for him to branch out and build a legal practice.”

“Miller & Martin is a well-respected firm with an outstanding lineup of attorneys and a government relations team held in high regard by members of the General Assembly. I couldn’t be happier to be joining in on their ongoing work. I look forward to maintaining the close relationships I’ve established in the General Assembly and to building more,” said Lewis.
