Professional Liability Defense
Miller & Martin's professional liability practice group has successfully defended professionals against a variety of liability claims involving accountant, legal, architectural, and other service providers. Our goal is to quickly and effectively defeat these claims. On many occasions, our efforts are directed toward assisting our clients in avoiding claims ever being made.
We have a depth of experience in counseling and representing accountants in all types of matters. This includes defending accountants in litigation against claims arising from audits, compilations and reviews, tax engagements, consulting engagements, breach of fiduciary obligation and fraud claims.
Experience
- Tried dozens of jury trials and hundreds of bench trials.
- Regularly speak at continuing education conferences for accountants including the Annual FBI Continuing Education Conference, Tennessee Society of CPA events, events sponsored by Lipscomb University and CPA firm in-house and client continuing education events.
- Periodically publish scholarly accounting malpractice articles in publications of the Defense Research Institute, American Bar Association, and Tennessee Society of CPAs.
