Internationally, Tim Perry concentrates his practice on acquisitions, joint ventures, and international business transactions. Mr. Perry has advised U.S. businesses on critical legal matters in over 60 countries and has led transactions in well over a dozen countries (such as China, Brazil, Spain, Mexico, South Korea, Argentina, Germany, Japan, Chile, etc.).
Mr. Perry leads the Emerging Markets practice and is currently counsel on four joint ventures underway in China. These joint ventures range from healthcare to manufacturing to agri-business. In addition Mr. Perry has represented (i) UPS in the global rollout of many of its technology products, (ii) Nokia in its acquisition of the remaining 49% of its manufacturing facilities in Brazil, named by Latin Trade as one the 20 largest transactions in Brazil in 2000, (iii) Imerys in the formation and restructuring of a major joint venture for extraction of kaolin in the Amazon region, and (iv) Six Continents in the disposition of the Crowne Plaza Reforma in Mexico City among other transactions.
Mr. Perry served from 2000-2008 as Honorary Consul of Brazil in Atlanta and was instrumental in Brazil's decision to bring a new Consulate General of Brazil to Atlanta with responsibility for much of the Southeast.
Mr. Perry draws on his 30 years of general business legal experience to advise businesses on general corporate legal matters, transactions and finance, all on a cost effective basis. Mr. Perry has represented companies in industries as diverse as healthcare services, food products, transportation equipment, home appliances, pulp and paper, metals recycling, theme restaurants, convenience stores, specialty chemicals, timber products, beverages, and other industrial, service, and retail businesses.
